Since then, it has widened to smaller cities. Lucknow and Ghaziabad issued in 2020\u201321, and Ghaziabad\u2019s was the country\u2019s first green municipal bond. Indore opened a bond to retail investors in 2023, and Surat and Vadodara have also borrowed. Nashik raised \u20b9200 crore through a green bond in March 2026, its second issue in about three months.
