Is there any tax on the capital gains earned from selling SGBs?

Yes, capital gains earned from selling SGBs are taxable as per the investor's income tax slab rate. If the bonds are sold before the completion of the minimum holding period of 8 years, the capital gains will be treated as short-term capital gains and taxed accordingly.
