SP Jammu Udhampur Highway Limited was founded in 2010. It is a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) promoted by Shapoorji Pallonji Roads Private Limited. Shapoorji Pallonji Roads Private Limited, also known as SP Group, is a business conglomerate founded by Pallonji Mistry in 1865. SP Group is in Infrastructure, Textiles, Real estate, Industrial engineering, and Appliances.

The business empire of SP Group includes 60,000 employees, more than a dozen subsidiaries, and its revenue in the year 2019(March) is 52,747 crores.

SP Group owns 26% of stake in SP JUHi. SP JUHi is working on four-laning of 64.58 km of Jammu to Udhampur. The Concession Agreement between National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and the SP JUHi. SPJUHi to receive fixed and pre-agreed semi-annual Annuity of Rs. 201.9 crore from NHAI up to June 2031 under the Concession Agreement.
