Which are the documents required for KYC of a HUF?

To complete KYC for a Hindu Undivided Family (HUF), you must submit the HUF PAN card, the HUF deed or declaration, and bank proof in the entity's name, alongside the Karta's individual credentials.

Documents required

An HUF is treated as a separate customer/person for banking and KYC purposes and is managed by a Karta, who acts on its behalf. The Karta's KYC is therefore an important part of opening and maintaining an HUF account.

Standard documents include:
  • HUF PAN card
  • HUF declaration/deed and other documents establishing the HUF, as required by the bank or platform
  • Karta's identity and address proof
  • Proof of the HUF's bank account, where required
