How it works
The platform may require a fresh Client Master Report (CMR) or other demat account proof to verify the new account details. If you have existing bond holdings in your old demat account, you can transfer them to the new account through an off-market transfer. Depending on your depository and DP (Depository Participant), this may be done electronically through CDSL Easiest or NSDL SPEED-e, or through the DP's prescribed instruction process. Before closing the old account, check for any pending trades, settlements or corporate-action/coupon payments and confirm with your DP or platform how they will be handled.
