Interest Payments and Returns

Can there be a delay in getting interest payouts on bond investment?

Generally, there wouldn't be a delay in interest payouts. Exemptions are public holidays or unforeseen circumstances. In case the issuer delays in paying interest or principal amount on maturity, then the issuer may have to pay some additional interest as a penalty along with the due interest amount to the bondholder. The specifics around this delay in payment are explicitly mentioned in the Information Memorandum of every Bond.
