Bonds and NCDs

Is there a lock-in period for Bond? Can I withdraw my money invested in bonds anytime before maturity?

Not all bonds are the same when it comes to lock-in periods and liquidity:
  • Many listed bonds can be sold on the secondary market before maturity, subject to market demand and availability of buyers.
  • Certain bonds, such as Section 54EC Capital Gains Bonds and some structured debentures, have a mandatory lock-in period and cannot be sold before maturity.
  • Many bonds listed on our platform can be traded in the secondary market, offering investors an opportunity to exit before maturity. We recommend reviewing the tradability and lock-in terms of each bond since liquidity and pricing may vary based on market demand.
